It’s not every day you get the chance to drive your favorite car on one of the country’s most historically significant race tracks–and that’s precisely why we gave our Classic Motorsports Empire State Tour participants the chance to drive on track at Watkins Glen International.
On the third day of our driving tour of New York’s famed Finger Lakes region, taking place September 6-11, our guests started their day with a trip to view the stunning, 215-foot-tall Taughannock Falls, one of the highest falls east of the Rocky Mountains.

Then, it was time for the headliner: driving on track at Watkins Glen International, former home of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.

After that, we led our tour-goers through downtown Watkins Glen for lunch at Seneca Harbor Station before making our way to a site bursting at the seams with racing history (and not even just the racing history that was made in Watkins Glen), the International Motor Racing Research Center.
Housing decades upon decades of motorsport history, the International Motor Racing Research Center exists to catalog and preserve the history of racing for future generations.
We then capped off the day by driving the old Watkins Glen Road Course, followed by a trek back to our host hotel, the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel, for a chance to freshen up before boarding a bus to dinner at the Veraisons Restaurant at the Glenora Wine Cellars.
