 2024 Bluegrass Tour Itinerary

HERE’S A BRIEF LOOK AT WHERE WE’LL BE GOING…

Day 1: Sunday

We’ll arrive at our hub resort: the historic Boone Tavern in Berea, Kentucky.

After everyone has a chance to check in and freshen up, we’ll head downstairs to the Coyle room for a cocktail reception, followed by dinner.

Day 2: Monday

Today we start driving. Fall foliage should be nearing its peak, and we’ll be enjoying the colors and crisp air as we cruise along. The roads in this area are uncrowded, hilly and curvy- perfect for sports car touring.

We’ll start off heading Northwest towards a stunning private Ferrari collection, where we’ll get a tour and have some lunch.

From there, we’ll make our way to the Buffalo Trace distillery for a tasting, and you’ll have the option of taking a tour there as well.

From there, we’ll head back to the hotel and freshen up before we hop on our bus to dinner at beautiful Chenault Vineyards.

Day 3: Tuesday

We’ll start our day heading towards the My Old Kentucky Home historic site, which features an over-200-year-old Federal style mansion that was once the center of a 1,300 acre plantation. Here we’ll take a group photo, learn how to make the perfect mint julep, and enjoy a gourmet lunch.

Next, we’ll head over to the distillery tour to end all distillery tours: Maker’s Mark. We’ll get the full experience, walking around the entire property and finishing with private tastings before making our way back to the hotel.

After we freshen up, we’ll take another bus ride to dinner at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, where we can enjoy the museum while being serenaded by their talented artist-in-residence.

Day 4: Wednesday

We’ll start this day headed towards beautiful Lexington. Lush forests in brilliant shades of red, yellow, and orange will give way to the rolling hills and the stunningly manicured farms of horse country.

There, we’ll visit Lane’s End Farm for a private tour to learn more about thoroughbred horse racing.

Lunch will be at the OBC Kitchen, a chef-driven restaurant named for “Old Bourbon County,” the words that were once stamped on bourbon barrels exported from Kentucky.

After lunch, we have been invited to visit the eclectic car collection of Tom Jones, who runs the Keeneland Concours.

Dinner tonight will be your choice, so feel free to check out the local hot spots, go see some horse racing at Keeneland or dine on-site at the hotel for a more laid-back evening.

Day 5: Thursday

Today we’ll head southeast towards the Jackson County Welcome Center, where we’ll visit with the leaders of Backroads of Appalachia, a nonprofit organization focused on promoting economic growth through motorsports tourism in some of the most impoverished areas of Kentucky.

After that, we’ll head towards spectacular Natural Bridge State Park, one of Kentucky’s many State Resort Parks. After a tasty lunch there, you’ll have the chance to either hike or take a skylift to the base of the aforementioned Natural Bridge. You may even choose to finish the hike to the top, where spectacular views await.

After this adventure, we’ll head back to the Boone Tavern for one final cocktail reception in the Coyle room, followed by dinner.

Day 6: Friday

We’ll enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out and parting ways (until next time).

What Participants Say About The Bluegrass Tour:

The driving routes were amazing, easy to see how much work went into creating them for us. Perfect mix of leisure and driving, never felt worn out. The night off mid-week was a nice touch. Great way to discover a part of the country we had never been to before.

Tim, Tom, Nicole took care of every detail. We thought we were familiar with the area but they found things that we didn’t know about. Like Cumberland Falls and Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant and museum! And we had no idea there were that many hilly, twisty roads in Kentucky. The entertainment at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame was top notch.

We really enjoyed the tour... Tom, Tim and Nicole were great, acted as if they knew us!
