Empire State Tour Itinerary:*
Here’s what we’re planning for 2026:
Day 1: Sunday
Check in with us at our gorgeous host hotel to receive your welcome packet, then settle in for the afternoon.
Our hotel is located right on the shores of Seneca Lake in Watkins Glen, so you can kick back and relax on the patio, walk along the lakeshore, or watch the boats go by from the dock.
After you’ve had some time to get comfortable, we’ll convene for our welcome dinner at the hotel and get to know each other before our adventure begins.
Day 2: Monday
We’ll start our tour by heading northeast onto some of the twisty roads in the area. Our destination is the quaint town of Norwich, New York, where we will be guests of the Northeast Classic Car Museum for a tour of their collection followed by lunch.
After our visit, we’ll head southwest along the Tioughnioga and Chenango rivers as we wind our way through the beautiful countryside and back to our hotel.
We’ll greet you in our private area of the parking lot with a frosty beverage of your choice before we all head to our rooms to clean up for dinner.
Dinner tonight will be aboard the Seneca Legacy, where we’ll sip cocktails, cruise the beautiful Seneca Lake and enjoy dinner and the stunning sunset.
Day 3: Tuesday
We’ll start our second day of driving with a with a stop at the breathtaking Letchworth State park, known as the Grand Canyon of the East. After touring the area, we’ll enjoy lunch at the historic Glen Iris Inn.
Our next stop will be at the Glenn H. Curtiss Aviation Museum, a 60,000 square foot facility housing an incredible collection of vintage aircraft, engines, motorcycles, and automobiles focused around the life and works of Glenn H. Curtiss, a contemporary and sometimes-rival of the Wright Brothers.
Feel free to spend more time at the museum or head out on your own adventure. Dinner tonight is your choice, so you can find a spot to stop along the route home for dinner, eat somewhere back in Watkins Glen, or venture far and wide for more options. Our staff is happy to offer recommendations upon request.
Day 4: Wednesday
Gentlemen (and ladies), start your engines: today we’ll head Watkins Glen International, the former home of the Formula One United States Grand Prix. We’ll drive the current race track, head back into town to grab some lunch at the Seneca Harbor Station, and then drive the public roads that made up the original Watkins Glen Grand Prix Course from 1948-1952.
After all that driving, we’ll visit the International Motor Racing Research Center, take a side quest to see some waterfalls, and head back to the hotel.
We’ll greet you once again with the parking lot bar before we all freshen up for dinner at the Glenora Winery overlooking Seneca Lake.
Day 5: Thursday
We’ll start our final driving day by heading due west towards Keuka Lake, one of the smaller of the Finger Lakes. Our first destination will be an incredible overlook on County Road 12 with sweeping views that you just have to see to believe.
From there, we will head to Naples New York, where we will have lunch and a distillery tour at Hollerhorn Distilling, a facility that specializes in “Tree Spirits” made from maple syrup in a process similar to rum distilling.
But the day doesn’t end there: Next, we’re off to Corning to see the world-famous Corning Museum of Glass. With exhibits and live demonstrations of the artistry, history and science of glassmaking (not to mention a lovely gift shop full of works by the museum’s in-house artisans), there’s something there for everyone.
Back at the hotel, we’ll gather for a farewell dinner and celebrate the good times we’ve shared with a hearty meal and a few surprises.
Day 6: Friday
While our touring days are done, we’ll still have breakfast available this morning in our banquet space at the hotel to send you off with full bellies and caffeinated minds.
