 Empire State Tour Itinerary:

We’re still planning, so this itinerary is likely to change over time. Stay tuned for updates!

Day 1: Sunday

Check in with us at our host hotel to receive your welcome packet, then settle in for the afternoon.

Our hotel is located in the heart of downtown, adjacent to the Ithaca Commons and a variety of great places to shop and dine. It is also located less than a mile from the historic Cornell University and Ithaca College campuses.

After you’ve had some time to get comfortable, we’ll convene for our welcome dinner and get to know each other before our adventure begins.

Day 2: Monday

We will start our journey by heading to Seneca Lake and the quaint town of Watkins Glen; arguably the birthplace of sports car racing in the United States. We’ll drive the original track (and most likely the newer track as well) and enjoy lunch there.

After lunch, we’ll head down to Corning to be mesmerized by their world-famous glass museum, which has exhibits for both the art appreciators and the science-inclined in the group. Be sure to catch one of the live glass blowing or flameworking demonstrations while we’re there!

For dinner, we’ll head into downtown Ithaca to wine and dine in one of the many wonderful restaurants.

Day 3: Tuesday

This morning is all about the famous waterfalls in this area. We’ll drive through the vineyards along the finger lakes and make stops along the way, including at Taughannock Falls, Shequaga Falls and Hector Falls.

After a nice lunch, we’ll switch gears and visit an incredible wooden boat museum and see how the wooden boats this area is famous for were built and preserved.

After heading back to the hotel, we’ll all have some time to freshen up before heading out together to another lovely dinner downtown.

Day 4: Wednesday

Today we head northwest to the the Granger Homestead and Carriage Museum in Canandaigua. Unlike any other automotive museum in the country, this one focuses on the carriages of the 1800s.

Lunch will be in Penn Yan, famous for wooden boats.

Our final stop of the day will be at the Curtiss airplane museum.

Dinner tonight will be your choice, so feel free to explore Ithaca’s downtown and choose your own adventure for the evening, either on your own or with a few new friends.

Day 5: Thursday

This morning we will head east into even wilder country. We’ll travel through the New Michigan and McDonough State Forests toward our destination: the Northeast Classic Car Museum.

We’ll have a private lunch at the museum, then wind our way back to Ithaca through the Ludlow Creek State Forest.

Back at the hotel, we’ll gather for a farewell dinner and celebrate the good times we’ve shared with a magnificent meal.
