2022 Golden State Tour Itinerary:

This tour IS based at the funky and fabulous mid-century Flamingo Resort in Santa Rosa, California.

Day 0: Sunday, October 2

We’ll check into the Flamingo Resort, which will have a designated parking area ready for your cars.

After everyone has a chance to unpack and freshen up, we’ll head to cocktails in The Cove followed by dinner in The Poppy Room.

Day 1: Monday, October 3

We’ll head north towards Booneville for a quick coffee stop (and maybe a bite of some organic farm-to-table treats) at the quaint Boonville General Store, then we’ll turn towards the coast for our lunch destination: the Rollerville Cafe. After lunch, we’ll take a scenic route back to our hub resort, stopping to see the sights at the Point Arena Lighthouse and the Jenner Headlands Preserve along the way. Back at the resort, you’ll have time to freshen up before we head to dinner in the Poppy Room.

Day 2: Tuesday, October 4

We’ll head westward for a visit to Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve. There we’ll walk among the giants on leisurely, well-maintained trails and gaze upon such natural wonders as the Colonel Armstrong Tree, the Parson Jones Tree and the Icicle Tree. After that, we’ll head towards Rancho Nicasio for a hearty lunch, followed by a visit to a private car collection. Back at the resort, we’ll get ready for dinner and meet in the lobby to await our shuttles to the Perch+Plow in downtown Santa Rosa.

Day 3: Wednesday, October 5

We’ll head east towards Calistoga and enjoy a traditional Mexican lunch at Pacifico Restaurante Mexicano. After lunch, you can choose your own adventure - Explore the Napa region, or head back to the resort to soak up some rays poolside. Dinner this evening will be your choice.

Day 4: Thursday, October 6

For our final day, we’ll head south to the Sonoma State Historic Park for a tour of a real Franciscan mission founded in 1823, followed by a trip to the incredible Cobra Experience Museum. We’ll enjoy a lunch at the museum before heading back to the Flamingo Resort, where we’ll have the parking lot bar open and waiting for you. Then, we’ll all freshen up and reconvene in the lobby to catch shuttles to our farewell dinner at Stark’s Steak & Seafood in downtown Santa Rosa.

Sorry! This Tour is No Longer Running.

We have been on a LOT of driving tours with the various clubs we belong to. The Golden State Tour was far and away the best. The food was excellent, the hotel was incredibly hip, but the drives were mega and the access to these amazing private car collections was unparalleled. Combine that experience with a tour group that seemed to bond immediately and the 2021 GS Tour seems impossible to beat…but we’re signed up for next year just to be sure.
