Escape to the two-lane roads of Napa Valley’s Wine Country.
California is a huge state, but that hasn’t stopped us from finding the best parts of it. Our flagship tour drapes Napa Valley’s wine country with amazing cars, compelling people, and the level of food and experiences that only California can provide.
Worried about the details? Don't: That's where we come in. From start to finish, our trained staff will transport your luggage, accommodate any special requests, and even take your selfies if you'd prefer. You'll also have the undivided attention of our team of expert mechanics, just in case your car has any mechanical issues or needs a tow. Golden State Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Sunday, October 4
The tour starts at Indian Springs Resort with an impromptu welcome gathering this afternoon. We’ll have time to look over each other’s cars and get acquainted. After that, feel free to take a dip in the famous hot springs before the delicious on-site welcome dinner.
Day 2: Monday, October 5
After a gourmet resort breakfast, we’ll head to the coast where we’ll have lunch high above the Pacific Ocean. From there it’s time to drive, as we’ll head south on the fiercely beautiful Pacific Coast Highway to the Point Arena Lighthouse. There we’ll get a private tour of what coastal life was like in Northern California more than a century ago. After that, we’ll drive through redwood forests that feature trees so tall the sun will seem to have disappeared. This evening’s dinner will be al fresco at one of the resort’s venues.
Day 3: Tuesday, October 6
It’s another world-class breakfast at the resort today, then we’ll head southwest toward Bodega Bay. This quaint town served as the backdrop for the filming of the Hitchcock film The Birds, and it’s just as memorable and eerie in person. Today’s lunch will feature seafood as the main course. This afternoon is a special treat, as we’ve been invited to the fabulous private car collection of San Francisco lumber mogul Charlie Goodman. We’ll wrap the day with dinner at one of Calistoga’s premiere hotspots, just a short walk from the resort.
Day 4: Wednesday, October 7
Today is special: We’re calling it double loop day, and it’s an opportunity to rest for those who found the spectacular driving, eating, and drinking of the previous days too strenuous (or those who just like a bit of recovery time on vacation). Rather than spend all day out on the road, we’ll run a morning loop that heads east toward an insanely remote area of North California near Lake Berryessa. Why head all the way out here? Once you experience the roads we’ve found, you’ll understand. After the first loop we’ll have a beautiful lunch overlooking the Napa river, then it’s time for the afternoon loop. We’ll head north toward even more-remote California jewels like Loch Lomond and Lower Lake. Not up for another adventure? No problem–after lunch, feel free to explore downtown Calistoga, take a dip in the hot springs, or nap at your leisure. We know that being together is great, but time alone is sometimes even better, so you’ll have tonight free to get dinner at your choice of restaurant–though we won’t judge if a quiet meal at the hotel is more your style.
Day 5: Thursday, October 8
We’ll awake fully rested from double loop day, and it’s a good thing: Today brings a new adventure, as we’ll head south through Santa Rosa to Mission San Francisco Solano. This last of the 21 missions built along California’s coast is a great place to learn more about the state’s rich history. We’ll have lunch in Occidental at the Union Hotel. After lunch, we’ll explore Armstrong Woods. The final driving leg of the tour brings us back to Indian Springs, and once back at the resort, we’ll enjoy an unforgettable farewell dinner. Don’t forget to grab everyone’s contact information, as you’ll want to keep in touch with all of your new friends.
